Me Ifrah Shafique is working as a fashion designer at Rung Jaa. Fashion is one industry in Pakistan that’s on the way up, but STEP helped me a lot to achieve my goal. I decided to become a designer after seeing the runway. In a market dominated by the NCA and PIFD students, it was hard to step in the in, but as you know hard work and passion always pay off, After graduating from STEP with no work experience or market knowledge, I started working at Pinar. For my first job, it was not bad. The time I spent there was beneficial for me as I got to know how this system works and what needs to be done. But after completing my graduation I wanted to work with known designers to explore more experimental trends. So, I quit Pinar and started Rang Jaa.
It was hard for me to get in there as they only heir NCA students. But slowly I grew into it and now I’m comfortable working as a Designer for them. This whole journey would not have been possible without my loving family and my teachers. My Mother and My younger Brother always supported me through thick and thin. It’s not just them all the other relatives are proud of me. In the end, I would like to say one thing. “Tough times don’t last but tough people do”. Studying at step was a wonderful experience. The teachers don’t give a feel of the teacher as they are so friendly and supportive. Step gives you an atmosphere where you can be creative and explore your imaginations. I have been a part of this institution for the past 6 years. I have seen it professionally grow and I’m expecting it to flourish more and achieve the heights of success than it has never before.
